Working with Amity Foundation

Peggy Gurrad was first introduced to Amity Foundation by Childhood Friends, a nonprofit in the UK, in 1998, and Altrusa International of Longview-Kelso started working with them that year. 

Peggy traveled to orphanages with Amity staff in June and November of 1999, and several times since. The Amity staff are honest, knowledgable, hard working, and committed to helping the orphans in China. They provide the hands-on supervision and instruction that we can't do from here in the U.S. They provide us reports and photos from their visits with the orphans and Hugging Grannies at all the orphanages in Jiangxi province that we are helping. They have hired a staff person in Nanchang specifically to monitor our projects in Jiangxi province.
